Stay Safe with Quantum Information Systems

Install and use anti-virus software

Use anti-virus software to prevent viruses from damaging your computer. Installing anti-virus software on your computer gives you better protection. Anti-virus software (real time scan) will automatically scan files and emails as they are opened to make sure that your computer isn't infected.

Don't use Internet Explorer

Internet Explorer it is very prone to viruses, worms, spyware and adware. Internet Explorer is targeted by many of the adware and spyware companies. IE is far slower than other web browsers. We recommend using Firefox or Opera.

Update your system - use Windows Update web site.

Keep your applications and operating system fit and healthy. Windows Update scans your computer and lists the updates needed on your system, you can then choose to download and install them.

Install and use a good firewall

On the Internet, hackers use malicious code—such as viruses, worms, and Trojan horses—to try to find unprotected computers. A firewall can protect your computer against these and other security attacks.

Backup your important data

Backups are the last line of defence against hardware failure, the damage caused by fire or flood, or just accidental deletion of data. You should protect against accidental data loss by regularly backing up your most important data. Please backup your data before repairing your computer!

Do no open suspicious emails

Some e-mails may contain viruses, trojan horses, spyware or adware. Always be very careful with opening attachments, even from people you know.
